Oni is a kind of secretive denim company from Okayama, the denim capital of Japan. Their Shin Secret denim is unusual for a lot of reasons: it’s bluey green, it’s very knotty, and it’s *stretchy*. Like sweatpants. Check it out.
ONI SHIN SECRET DENIM
* Dyed with green sulfur to make a slightly greenish color
* Ecru weft
* Slubby, knotty, low tension denim
* Woven with 2% elastane for s-t-r-e-t-c-h
This denim is "greencast," meaning it's dyed with green sulfur before the indigo and it has a really cool, bluish green color that's both subtle and helps the jeans stand out among their peers.
It's hairy, nappy, slubby, knotty, fuzzy sort of denim but the real bonus is that it's woven with 2 percent elastane: it stretches. They feel more like sweatpants than selvedge jeans, which is a great feeling.
