Demon With Matted Hair, from The Jatakas

Jatakas are tales of the Bodhisattva, narrated by Buddha to his disciples. The stories were written around 4th Century BCE. Bodhisattva refers to the Buddha in his previous human or animal lives, reaching the final enlightened state through noble deeds done then. Buddha narrates this story about an encounter between a brave young Prince and the Demon With Matted Hair.
