I made this video, because someone sold me an Dell Dimension 9150 with the BIOS password enabled. As a result, I could not make any changes in the BIOS; therefore, I had to find a way to erase it.
Clearing the CMOS instructions. It is located on the right middle of the motherboard. If you watch this video, I show a picture of it on the Dell Dimension 9150 service manual. Located on 3:48 on the video. The original position will be pins 1 and 2. 1 and 2 will be on the right side. You change the pins to 2 and 3 leave it in there for about 5 to 10 seconds. Then, you move the pins back to 1 and 2.
Erasing the BIOS Password. Clearing the CMOS will not erase the BIOS password. In order to do this, locate the pins for the password on the motherboard. It is located on the middle left of the motherboard. It will be shown on the diagram on the video. 3:48 on the video. It will be set at 1 and 2. The bottom 2 will be set as 1 and 2. You need to move the jumper to 2 and 3, or move it up.
Turn the computer on and go back to the BIOS. 2 and 3 pins settings will disable your BIOS passwords. Exit the BIOS and turn the computer off.
Next, you need to set the PSWD pins back to 1 and 2, or move it down. Turn, the computer back on and go to the BIOS. Check if you can change the BIOS password to whatever you want, or just leave it so you can make changes on the BIOS settings.
