Badarpur is situated close to Delhi's Haryana Border near Faridabad. For this reason, Badarpur Constituency in South-East Delhi is often called Badarpur Border. It is situated on Mathura road linking Delhi with UP's Mathura and Agra on National Highway number 2. It was originally a Sarai (name for old caravan rest houses) on Grand Trunk Road (GT Road). Once a Congress bastion, this Badarpur seat went to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Narayan Dutt Sharma in Delhi Assembly Elections 2015. However, AAP has fielded Ram Singh Netaji this time as it's candidate. Fighting against him are Ramveer Singh Bidhuri from BJP and Narayan Dutt Sharma (incumbent MLA) from BSP.
