Dead dolphin in Hurghada

In this video made a few days ago in Hurghada the body of a dead bottlenose dolphin calf was being carried by an adult, presumably the mother. Displaying a behavior comparable to mourning is something that has proven to exist in social animals like dolphins and watching these images you can't but feel sad for this animal struggling to keep the corpse of the calf on the surface. But what happened to the calf? How did it die? We don't have an answer yet as no necropsy was carried out. Mortality in young cetaceans can be naturally high, but considering the increasing number of complaints received by HEPCA stating that bottlenose dolphins in El Fanous and Shaab El Erg in particular are far too often harassed by swimmers and vessels, it is just normal to wonder if this death is related to human stupidity.
