"Dark Realms of Pluto" - track 4 from my album, "Ode To Ancient Rome". Pluto was the Roman god of the Underworld (Hades). "Ode To Ancient Rome" is out now, on iTunes: http://bit.ly/yKJRvI "Ode To Ancient Rome" is the sequel to my album, "Echoes of Ancient Rome" - both albums feature my evocation of the sadly lost music of ancient Rome, inspired by the Temples & gods of ancient Rome, in a set of original compositions for replica Kithara-style lyre, composed in a selection of authentic ancient musical modes. In "Ode To Ancient Rome", I tune my hand-made lyre divisively, to achieve the authentic just intonation of antiquity - in just intonation, the scale is precisely divided up into specifc mathematial ratios, whereby each interval is 100% pure, but all the semitones are slightly different (divisve tuning dates back at least 5000 years, with the develpment of the 1st fretted lutes in ancient Mesopotamia). The intervals in just temperament are far purer than the unfortunate compromise of modern equal temperament, whereby all the semitones are artificially made equal, so tha the same ratio of pitch is maintained, no matter what key is being played in.
