Dan Lamaestra Trio - Rachmaninoff 2nd Piano Concerto, 1st Movement for Jazz Trio

Possibly the most famous and played piano concerto in the world. I have always wanted to do something with this material, and finally decided to adapt it to my jazz trio format which remains my favorite group for exploring music. Sergie wrote this around 1899-1901. After much study, I have to wonder if he would have been a jazz pianist himself had he been alive in a different era. The harmonies and piano figures lend themselves heavily to improvisation and interplay with other musicians. This is an interpolation of the piano parts and the orchestral parts, we kept as much as we could to keep to the "essence" of the music. This is my favorite piece of music, and the other two movements will be arranged and recorded by us, by the end of 2017. If you want the score for my arrangement, just message me at my website below. I can send by PDF, free of charge. Thanks for listening and watching!
