One of Germany's youngest baby giant panda twins could be spotted in a heart-warming battle with the hiccups while trying to fall asleep at the Berlin Zoo on Thursday.
The struggle did not last too long before the tired three-month old panda cub fell asleep after trying to move away. The crawl-like movements are soon to develop into the next milestone: rollicking about.
The twins were born on 31 August 2019 in Berlin to their mother, Meng Meng, meaning 'sweet dream,' and their father Jiao Qing, who does not take part in the twin's upbringing - typical for Giant pandas.
The panda cubs now weight around 5 kg (11 lbs) each and are expected to be able to play and explore outside with their mother in the New Year.
Meng Meng and Jiao Qing were the only pandas living in Germany since 2017 and were lent to Germany with the Berlin Zoo paying an annual fee, which is being fully used to protect the extinction threatened species.
