Crown Point is the name of a promontory on the Columbia River Gorge just east of Portland, Oregon. Crown Point is one of the scenic lookouts along the Historic Columbia River Highway, providing a panoramic view of part of the Columbia River. The Crown Point Vista House was built in 1916 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was being refurbished when this video was shot in 2004. It was restored to its 1916 appearance and reopened in 2005. With its marble interior and brass fixtures, the $100,000 renovation makes it the most expensive rest area in the world!
