Most people on a cruise only glimpse the port at Costa Maya for a day if they choose to stay, or less if they take a tour. We had nearly 2 weeks of watching the ships and passengers coming and going. We would arrive at the port at 7 am and see the second busiest port in Mexico come alive. Amazing experience, and in the afternoon when the ships sailed...the port shut down and became deserted. Everything revolves around the cruise industry.
