The World Health Organisation has declared the coronavirus outbreak a global emergency as Australian scientists scramble to find a vaccine
It's just the sixth time the organisation has made an emergency declaration of this kind.
It means there will be greater global coordination to fight the virus including new recommendations around screening, monitoring and other containment measures.
The death toll has now risen to 213. There have been 9 confirmed infections in Australia.
A lab-grown copy of the virus has now been transferred to one of Australia's most secure scientific labs as the search for a vaccine ramps up.
