Contemporary Talks: Ronald Feldman Nov 18, 2010

Art dealer Ronald Feldman, of Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, and ACAC Artistic Director Stuart Horodner discuss Feldman's 40-year career as a champion of feminist, political, conceptual, and performative practices, and how he helped make these challenging modes of working commercially viable. Presented in partnership with the High Museum of Art, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Ronald Feldman Fine Arts was founded in 1971 by Ronald and Frayda Feldman, and since that time the gallery artists have participated in more than 2000 national and international exhibitions. Artists who have worked with the gallery include Ida Applebroog, Eleanor Antin, Joseph Beuys, Chris Burden, Komar & Melamid, Leon Golub, Andy Warhol, Hannah Wilke and others. In 1993, Feldman was appointed by President Clinton to the National Council on the Arts, where he served for five years. His board affiliations include Creative Capital, People for the American Way, Exit Art, the Research Center for Arts and Culture at Columbia University, and the Art Dealers Association of America. Contemporary Talks is a lecture series featuring some of the most consequential thinkers and doers in the world of contemporary art and culture. These curators, dealers, architects, critics, and artists have helped shape their respective professions and will lecture on aspects of their careers. ACAC is proud to partner with local arts, culture, and educational institutions to present Contemporary Talks.
