Frank Ticheli's "Concerto For Clarinet" was written for Swedish clarinet virtuoso Håkan Rosengren and has since become a popular work in the band repertoire. The piece is in three movements, each one serving as a tribute to the three giants of American classical music. The first movement is a tribute to George Gershwin, with a quote from the opening clarinet solo in "Rhapsody In Blue."
Performed by the University Of Michigan Symphony Band.
