Morris Hampton of the Daniel Boone Cloggers, my favorite male clogger of the era, teaching at Clog College at Fontana Dam Village, NC in the Spring of 1981. This routine is more of an instructional sequence to teach some of the steps used by the Daniel Boone Cloggers than a line dance. Morris was a three-time world champion clogger at Fontana, and the Daniel Boone Cloggers were twice world champions. I would love to see some video of his awesome team, the Daniel Boone Cloggers, on You Tube! They were one of my favorites from the 1970s and of all time. The music in this video was about 155 bpm. The Daniel Boone Cloggers danced up to 180 bpm. They sounded like a herd of galloping horses in perfect unison - just awesome, and comparable to nothing being done today. The steps were simpler in terms of execution than today's steps, but they had a style that was very smooth with a great sound and were simply beautiful. I would say that the teams that most influenced me in developing my style were the Daniel Boone Cloggers and the Avery County High Cloggers, and of course, the Green Grass Cloggers.
