Clam Pumper

Clam Pumping, is a class of fishery in its self! Using on the average 1,000 gallon per minute pump, supplying water to nozzles that squirt into the ocean floor and fluffing up the clams and catching them in a cage behind the nozzle manifold on the drag. I have worked on stainless, monel and bronze pumps for the navy over the years and not once did I see a cast iron pump used in salt water, until I met a clamer. I was asked if I could get one of these cast iron pumps to last any longer than three months. Here is how I do it!
