This is an extremely EASY recipe. the flavour form the prawn paste is just amazing and I personally think adding garlic and chilli flakes gives a flavoursome kick to the toast (it is not spicy). this is something you can easily make if you have family or friends coming round as it isn't too time consuming! I hope you enjoy.
Ingredients
200g cooked prawns (shells removed)
2 spring onions
1 garlic clove
8 slices of white bread
1 medium egg
1tbsp cornflour
1 tsp chilli flakes
sesame seeds
oil for frying
Method:
1) Remove the skin from the garlic clove and trim the spring onions washing away any dirt. Place into a food processor along with the prawns, chilli flakes, cornflour and egg (removing the shell). Blitz until it forms a paste and there is no big lumps.
2) Cut the crust off the bread and then cut in half sideways to make triangles.
3) Place the sesame seeds onto a plate. Spread over the prawn paste onto one half of the triangle shaped bread and then press down onto the sesame seeds so it covers the paste.
4) Fill your frying pan with oil (i used sunflower) so it is roughly 2cm deep and heat until hot but not smoking.
5) Once the oil is hot begin to fry your prawn toast by placing in the oil sesame seed side down first. You will know it is cooked when it is golden brown on one side. You then need to flip it over and cook for a further 1-2 minutes.
6) You can place onto some kitchen roll to soak up any excess oil.
7) Serve with some sweet chilli dip. EAT and ENJOY
