Ingredients for Chicken Tikka Masala:
Boneless Chicken – 500 g.
Marinade – ½ tbsp Ginger paste, 1 tbsp Garlic paste, 1 tsp Red Chilli powder, 1 tsp Coriander powder, 1 tsp Garam Masala powder, ½ tsp Turmeric powder, ½ tsp Black pepper, ½ tsp cumin powder (Jeera), ½ tsp dried fenugreek leaves (Kasuri Methi), ½ tsp Chaat Masala powder, ½ tsp salt, 1 tbsp Lime juice, ¼ cup plain yogurt (dahi/curd).
Onions – finely chopped, 2 cups
Tomatoes – puréed/finely chopped, 1 cup
Spices for the gravy/sauce – 1 tsp. each of ginger & garlic pastes, 1 tsp each of red chilli powder, coriander powder & garam masala powder, ½ tsp each of turmeric powder, cumin powder & dried fenugreek leaves (Kasuri Methi), 1 bay leaf, 4 cloves, 1’’ cinnamon stick, 1 green cardamom (elaichi)
Green Chillies – 2 no. (optional)
Vegetables – ¼ cup each of diced onions, green bell peppers (capsicum), deseeded tomatoes
Cashew paste or heavy cream (malai) – ¼ cup
Finely chopped Coriander leaves – ¼ cup
Salt to taste
Water – 3 cups (approx. 700 ml)
Cooking oil – 3 to 4 tbsp.
