The prevailing belief of the 1950s was: "You're fat because you eat too much." "Cheers For Chubby" was a 16 mm film originally shown in movie theaters in the early 1950s. Today, overweight is blamed on a myriad of issues over which we have little or no control. We also now have an obesity epidemic that didn't exist in the 1950s.
