Cementing and Fracturing

Cementing and fracturing are two important parts of drilling for oil and gas. Cementing secures the pipe inside the well in cement. Fracturing (or fracking) pumps a liquid down into a wellbore under high pressure, which creates and expands cracks that allow the oil and gas to be extracted.
