Celebrating Dickens

In this special academic led documentary, Professor Jon Mee from the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies explores the life and works of Charles Dickens and his enduring legacy. Professor Mee meets with various experts to discuss Dickens -- the author, the public performer, the activist, the celebrity, the boy and the family man. Our experts also hear readings of passages from his celebrated novels. As Warwick celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens, one of the greatest authors to ever put pen to paper, the University of Warwick's "Celebrating Dickens" project http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/dickens/ examines his life and works. Experts from the University are celebrating the genius of Dickens and exploring different aspects of his work and the Victorian era, in which he lived -- in commemoration of his 200th birthday on February 7.
