Think Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Joker. Sometimes, however, some characters fail to gain any sort of traction and aren’t elaborated on or forced into the limelight of comics. Catwoman, for the longest time, was one of these characters. Catwoman debuted in 1940 to little fanfare. This isn’t due to anything she did or didn’t do but instead, it was commonplace for the time. The age of superheroes wasn’t upon the world. It was close but wasn’t quite there. So, when heroes and villains appeared for the first time, it was often the first and only time they’d appear.
