Each Fall and Spring, speckled trout can be found making a major transition all along the Gulf Coast. Captain Charlie Thomason has spent many years following trout through this transitional period and he has some key concepts that he uses during this time to put more trout in the boat. Follow along as Louisiana Sportsman presents this Coastal Fishing Concept During transitional periods Captain Charlie likes to start the morning off with a topwater bait. This allows him to cover long stretches of water to locate fish. Once Charlie locates fish using the topwater he will typically switch over to a plastic cocahoe bait rigged under a Versamaxx Cork.
