Castello is the perfect area to get lost and forget about time. It is the largest sestiere in Venice, but not necessarily the best known one. The majority of the tourists only wander through the section closest to San Marco and along the Riva dei Sette Martiri, whereas the visitors of the Biennale know well the area around the Arsenale and Giardini grounds.
