Applications include internal and external precision metrology (in microns), internal and external visualization, assembly analysis, defect analysis, and reverse engineering. Most of us dont give much thought to the internal structure of a light bulb when we flip the switch. But by peeling away the different densities of materials in the light bulb, or by virtually slicing through the light bulb, we can see the inner components and structure.
