Canon 100mm with Leica SL: shooting at wide open f2

I enjoy shooting at 100mm focal length, it's nice to have a f2 at this range, separation between the subject and the background is awesome at this length.
It's tiring to shoot at wide open, my eyes are definitely ageing, but I don't want to do auto focusing.
Modification work is horrible for this lens.
