Can Onyx by Orion Replace a Google Home or Amazon Echo? The answer is, partially. You can replace at least a significant part of a Google Home or an Amazon Echo and their associated Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants. The way you can do this is through the IFTTT web application and your Onyx devices paired to your phone. From there, the world of automation is essentially endless. This video will walk you through how to go about at least partially replacing a Google Home with an Onyx. You can complete all kinds of home automation in your smart home with your Onyx device and just your voice. You'll speak into your Onyx device, and then you'll be able to trigger home automation devices like Philips Hue, WeMo, and other home automation devices. What's even more exciting is that you can trigger Stringify Flows within IFTTT. In this video, I also show you how to set up a search on a service like eBay to be able to get new product notifications through your Onyx device.
