This video is another example of how you may be conned when buying a used Eberspacher heater on eBay!
We only ever publish video's like this after we have given a seller the option to be honest! In this case, not only was the seller's description a lie, but his reply to resolve this matter continued with more even more lies!
Even after publishing this video for his eyes only, he simply added abusive comment we said we would leave very just and deserved Negative eBay feedback!
So, here it is! Live for the World to see and hopefully you will not get caught out?
This is just one of many bad eBay heaters we could publish, but as we have a lot of used spares we are able to cover the cost of replacement parts up to £50 and take no action against a seller.
Not all sellers are like this one, there are some decent ones who genuinely make a mistake and are happy to resolve it. They are not the ones that say "I was told it was working" or "It was working when removed" or my favourite? "Unable to test" When they are selling a full heater kit!! They only need power and fuel!
Just because a seller may have 100% feedback? Unless it's from a genuine Eberspacher seller, then I recommend you think twice.
Like you! We also have to buy heaters in for refurbishment and take an educated gamble. The seller of this heater has obviously told a pack of lies about its condition as you will see.
The cost of a new ECU would be around £300 and a blower motor around £150 without knowing if the glow pin is ok, another £40! In this case, all the torx srews are seized, so we could not even check the rest of it.
Even if it could be opened up, it's beyond economical repair and I'm sure most viewing would class it as scrap.
We often see other sellers on eBay who may look like they know what they are doing as they simply copy phrases from genuine sellers and included them in their listings.
Easy to spot their errors when they claim to be able to use diagnostic equipment on very early units that simply do not have the function!!
Looking at their pictures, they show incorrect fuel pumps that will kill the heater they are advertising in a minutes or a few hours.
No inlet pipes on heaters that need a balance air/exhaust combustion flow.
Some advertise 12 -- 24v inverters that can not cope with Glow Plug heaters on start ups and shut downs.
Take time to look at their feedback and ask yourself why you do not see positive feedback for heaters they have sold before?
