Buddy Rich Slingerland Classic Drumset-Ken Loomer

You asked for it,so here is my video showing up close of me playing on these great drums from the past. A lot of you have seen me performing with my Big Band,the Ken Loomer Big Band,and I want to thank you for all the comments you have made about me and my band. I love the drum history of these great Slingerland drums.Of course Gene Krupa made Slingerland famous and the brand every drummer wanted to get back then. These drums I`m playing is the Buddy Rich Slingerland model which I got back in 1976.They are well made and still today look new,since I took great care of them.What is most important to me is the sound of these drums.As you can hear,the TDR 5X14 snare drum with the straight edge hoops have a super crisp sound with a great rim shot sound.This drum will not hide any mistakes you make while playing it. Every sound is cristal clear! The toms have great tone and are wide open. I use ambassador smooth white heads on all the toms,top and bottom. The bass drum has that big wide open sound,so you hear a note instead of just a dead beat to it. Now that I`m in my late 50`s,I know that with the technique that I have learned,I can do what I want to play without wasting a lot of energy. A drum can only play so loud,so if you hit it harder,it won`t produce more sound since it has its limit. This set of drums is part of music history,and it always makes me want to play.
