Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner made a joint campaign stop in Springfield Wednesday with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, head of the Republican Governors Association and a potential 2016 presidential candidate. Rauner used the event to attack Jack Lavin, a former chief of staff to Gov. Pat Quinn, and demand that Quinn and his administration disassociate themselves from Lavin after his name surfaced in a federal probe of the Neighborhood Recovery Initiative and a state ethics probe involving improper hiring at the Illinois Department of Transportation.
