The printer keeps track of how many times you print, and it tells you to replace the cartridge. Then, the light comes on, and it will not let you print until you resolve the issue. You can either load a factory produced cartridge from Brother, or you can reset the counter. This printer and other Brother printers tell you when you have to replace the drum unit. It will keep track of how many times you printed since you replaced and reset the printer. Let's say the printer registers 10,000 pages, the drum light will come on. Wait for the printer to warm up. 6. Turn the printer off for about 10 to 15 seconds. 7.
