This video shows you the 6 basic punches in Boxing. While there are many more punches and there are many different variations on each type of punch, these are the 6 elemental punches you’ll need to get started in Boxing or Kickboxing
Punch #1 The Jab. The Jab is a straight punch directly to your opponent’s nose thrown with your left hand.
Punch #2 The Straight Right Hand. The Straight Right Hand is sometimes called a Cross. It’s a punch thrown directly to your opponent’s nose. The Straight Right Hand has tremendous power because you’re complimenting the punch with the rotation of your hips and shoulders.
Punch #3 The Left Hook. The Left Hook is a punch that you’re throwing to the right side of your opponent’s face.
Punch #4 The Right Hook. The Right Hook is an exceptionally powerful punch that is thrown to the left side of your opponent’s face.
Punch #5 The Left Uppercut. The Left Uppercut is a punch thrown with your left hand that travels up from the floor. You’re trying to hit the front of your opponent’s face or jaw with this punch.
Punch #6 The Right Uppercut. The Right Uppercut is a powerful punch thrown with your right hand that has tremendous power due to the rotation of your hips and shoulders. You’re trying to hit your opponent’s jaw with this punch.
