Iraqi Egg Rolls (Bourak)
Ingredients
The Filling
-1-1 1/2 lb ground beef.
-1 cup chopped parsley.
-1 cup chopped onion.
-3 tsp all spices.
-1 tsp black pepper.
-1/4 tsp red pepper (chili).(optional)
-1/2 tsp salt or to taste .
-Egg roll wraps.
Note: all spices and salt are to your taste.
-Cook the ground beef in a pan until brown and over medium- high heat .
-Drain the extra oil.
-Add about 2-3 Tbsp vegetables oil or corn oil.
-Add onion and the spices and the salt. Cook until the onion get tender.
-Add parsley and mix well and cook just for a few second and immediately turn the heat off.
-Leave the filling to cool down completely.
Steps:-
-Add about 2 Tbsp of the filling on one corner of the wrap .
-Fold corner up over.
-Fold both sides toward the center.
-Continue rolling until you reach to the other corner.
-Seal the edge of the corner with the water or with the beaten egg. Make sure all sides are well sealed.
-Deep fry in medium heated oil until golden brown.
-Keep them on the towel paper to absorb the excess oil.
-You can enjoy them immediately or you can freeze them in the freezer in the zip lock bag.
