Boss Fight: Mother Poptop - Starbound 1.0 Full Playthrough - Episode 6 - Starbound Survival Mode

It’s time to visit that spooky mine and gets some Core Fragments! Along the way, Dinky the Floran will orphan a whole lot of little Poptop monsters by slaying their mother. Welcome back to the Starbound 1.0 playthrough and guide! This time around, I fight (and defeat) the Mother Poptop. Having fully explored the planet’s surface, it’s time for me to underground and see about finding Core Fragments to power the Ancient Gate. In addition to the Core Fragments, I also find a whole lot of random loot (including sweet fire-imbued swords. Oh, and there’s also a huge monster down there the Adult Poptop that I have to take out because it’s guarding my precious Core Fragments. (Sidenote: it unlocks the “Not in front of the children” achievement on Steam.) With the Mother Poptop dispatched and Core Fragments in hand, the next step for me is to head back to the Ancient Gate and fire that sucker up so I can see where Starbound 1.0’s story goes.
