Bollywood - Bandari dance fusion by Apsara

find me on facebook : http://www.facebook.com/Apsararaqs?ref=hl A fusion of Indian filmi Bollywood dance and Iranian Bandari dance The idea for this dance came when I realised that Anu Malik 's 'Bande Kamre Mein' song from 'Kuch Khatti Kuch Mitti' has persian Bandari tune and rythm. I searched through numerous Bandari songs and finally found out that original song is Shahram Shabpareh 's 'Gouhare Shab Cheragh' and decided to mix both songs together. again, sorry for 'headdress issue' , during rehersals it was sitting stabely on my head...seems that the stage magically makes costumes get crazy :) please note, that this dance was not supposed to be any ethnic , classical or authentic dance, and please don't get offended, that I'm dancing bandari dance to indian music - the idea was to find connection between indian and bandari dances through the song, not to represent any particular ethnic group. The costume is not authentic either, it's rather kind of 'orientalism' , fantasy idea on harbour girls' dresses inspired by '70 bollywood movies, I am aware of the fact that traditional bandari clothes look completly different, so please take it as a artistic idea and don't judge it from 'authenticy point of view' the dance was performed at Indo-Polish Friendship Day (Indyjsko - Polski Dzień Przyjaźni) in Pub Lolek, Warsaw, 24th of february 2013 .
