From the rotunda of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Big Machine Records President Scott Borchetta expressed his excitement as he announced a major recording contract with music icon Tim McGraw. "It's countless what he is done and it's extraordinary to know that big machine label will be part of what he is about to do" says Borchetta The deal was actually signed about a week ago - at what most would consider an unlikely place - Nashville's greyhound bus station. But for McGraw it couldn't be a more nostalgic spot to start what he calls a new beginning of a new career. "I came to Nashville 23 years ago on a greyhound bus with a guitar and a suitcase" says McGraw Mcgraw wasn't on the music market long. After a lengthy dispute with Curb Records, his label of nearly twenty years, in 2011 a judge ruled McGraw had the right to seek out other record deals. "I wanted to be able to do what I wanted to do and make music I like making and have a partner that understood it and could get it to the right places in the biggest way" says McGraw Mcgraw is already working on new material with his powerhouse label."The reality is - it's time for Tim to take over. It's time for him to tell you what he wants to tell you when he wants to and how he wants to and we are going to provide that arena for him" says Borchetta. "I haven't felt this way about music in a long time" says McGrawIt's a partnership that McGraw thinks fans will benefit most from.. "They will get to hear a lot of different kinds of music in a lot of different ways a long with albums as well" says Borchetta. Mcgraw has already had quite a career. 32 number one singles, numerous Grammy's, cma's, acm's, entertainer of the year - even an artist of the decade nod. The singer says the approach he took to get this far will stay the same. "Make the best music I can make and make music that moves people" says McGraw But will be done with a freedom and re-birth he hopes will last for many more years. A neat little fact. Scott's dad is the one that actually signed McGraw to Curb when he first came to Nashville 23 years ago.
