Famous bolero by Mexican composer Consuelo Velázquez was arranged in bossa nova style and recorded by João Gilberto on Amoroso album. The lesson shows the usage of advanced bossa nova phrase 1222. This phrase can also be considered a variation of second basic bossa nova phrase (1332) played without syncopation. The greatest part of this song is played with legato, which is quite common with bossa nova songs played at slower tempo. Most of the song is played with basic bossa nova rhythmic phrases (1212 and 1213) as those are usually the phrases of choice when songs that were not composed as samba are arranged in bossa nova style.
