I did this brown smokey eye makeup look during the african makeup artists hub snapchat takeover and some of you mentioned that you wanted a tutorial so I did one. This look is very sultry and chocolatey! In this tutorial I also show how to blend eyeshadows. This is really important for smokey eyes because we want the eyeshadows to seamlessly merge and transition. So I show you how to do that by adding and then blending out color, including tips that are specific for a smokey eye look. I have honestly always veered away from doing brown smokey eyes because I thought it would look weird or unnoticeable on my melanin skin tone. Once I transitioned from a beginner to a not so beginner makeup enthusiast I realized it was all about finding colors that not only worked for me, but ensuring that I had a solid base to work on. For women of color or those who are just searching for makeup tutorials for brown skin, it is important to note that whenever you are doing any makeup looks, but especially smokey eyes, make sure your base is all one even color or else the end result will be unsatisfactory - kind of like the look we all get when we see unblended contour or highlight.
