Azog's forces just happened to arrive at the lonely mountain just as Bard the Bowman [& the forces of Dale],King Thranduil of the Mirkwood and the Dain of the Iron Hills[Dwarves] were about to fight over the spoils of the mountain.The scene was set to see who would gain the dragon's spoils.....
