Basti therapy is considered as Chikitsardha(half treatment)or complete therapeutic measures because Basti has a vast field of action... The prepared medicine is administered through rectal canal reaches upto the Nabhi Pradesh, Kati, Parswa, Kukshi, Churns the accumulated Dosa and Purisa, Spreads the potency of the drugs all over the body and Easily comes out along with the churned Purisa and dosha (impurity) is called Basti. The procedure in which Basti (Putaka) is used for the administration of the drugs. Here this Video shows Procedure of Basti (Niruha basti) and Use of ancient instrument BastiNetra. There is difference between Basti and enema, as enema act on intestine only while Basti (medicated enema) has effect of full body.. Basti was/is given by Basti Netra & Basti Putak. many Ayurveda doctor is not aware with use of Bastinetra. They can learn from this video. We are using strong Polythene bag instead of Basti(Bladder of animal), because polythene bag is easily available, strong enough to bear pressure while giving and use & throw.
