Automatic Chicken Coop Door - Home Assistant - NodeMCU - Arduino

We built an automated chicken coop door to help keep the girls warmer during the Minnesota winter. The door itself is a piece of carbon fiber left over from the airplane build. It is opened by a modified RC Servo acting as a winch, and controlled by a NodeMCU, which is in turn controlled by my HomeAssistant home automation system. The door uses magnetic reed switches as open and closed limit switches. HomeAssistant enables the door to be activated by Siri, and also enables the door opening and closing to be activated automatically based on sunrise and sunset.
