Two Queensland wildlife carers are injured after they say they were attacked by a Grey Kangaroo buck on their property in the Darling Downs.
Queensland wildlife carers Jim and Linda Smith are lucky to be alive after they were attacked by a Grey Kangaroo buck on their property in the Darling Downs on Sunday (October 14).
The Smiths were feeding a mob of wild kangaroos when a buck started to attack Smith, knocking him to the ground. When his wife Linda Smith ran to help her husband, the kangaroo attacked her, leaving her with a collapsed lung, broken ribs, cuts and scratches.
It was only when their son came out and started to hit the kangaroo with a piece of wood, that the kangaroo stopped, local media reported.
Linda Smith was taken to Toowoomba Hospital where she underwent surgery, local media added.
