In response to a question from xRumvley. He asked if the Xeon 3450 would work on the Asus P7H55-M motherboard. I don't have the 3450 but I am running the X3470 overclocked at 4ghz right now. I have had it stable at 4.1 but dialed it back so I could lower voltage. It is a smooth running system. With a better video card than what I'm running it would make a great little 1080p gaming system. I am thinking of grabbing a GTX 970 to throw in it. Anyway this was just a fun little system I threw together for almost no money. The motherboard, power supply, hard drive all came out of a thrift store $10 system. The video card is an old Geforce 9800 gt which in its day was a beast, so that didn't cost me anything it was just collecting dust. The ram is 8 gb of GSkill Ripjaw DDR3 that is actually way faster than the motherboard even needs, that ran me $38 on ebay. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo to cool the overclocked X3470 was less than $20 I think from Amazon. There was an LED version out now but I opted for the non led.
Good Luck to xRumvley hope your build goes smooth and you enjoy it.
