***This is a slightly incomplete video. Original files were lost in a hard drive crash.**
Two years ago I worked on a project to compile a complete story of Arthas, from his birth to his final demise. This was just something I wanted to do for fun because I was trying my hand at video editing, and really only intended to share it with friends and never publish it widely. Unfortunately, during final editing, my hard drive crashed and I couldn't get my RAID backup to work, so I lost everything except two renders I forgot I had copied to a flash drive.
The renders were mostly complete, except that the text timing still needed work (too slow or too fast in spots) and the intro sequence had a badly misplaced clip of Uther. I had also intended to include scenes from the Undead WC3 campaign and scenes from WC3:FT, but the files were lost before I built that part of the story. Still, it represented weeks (months?) of invested time, so when I stumbled onto the renders earlier last week I figured I'd share the end result of that time spent.
This story focuses on King Terenas, Arthas, Frostmourne, Tirion Fordring, and the Ashbringer. I was in the process of tightening up the Warcraft 3 clips to eliminate the delay between dialogue, and I cut out unimportant details. My goal was to make the story as compelling and complete as possible; something that a person unfamiliar with the Arthas lore could watch in one sitting to appreciate the storyline that finally closed in Wrath of the Lich King.
