Argentina: Fistful of activists uphold Monsanto blockade

Protesters continued to maintain blockades at the Cordoba construction site on Thursday, delaying the completion of Monsanto's largest plant in Latin America. Monsanto has been scrutinised for a series of reports indicating that their pesticides are harmful to humans, with a growing campaign linking chemical agents in Monsanto products to increased rates of cancer and birth defects. In the province of Chaco, where Monsanto operate, cancer rates are between two-to-four times higher than the rest of Argentina.
