Protesters continued to maintain blockades at the Cordoba construction site on Thursday, delaying the completion of Monsanto's largest plant in Latin America.
Monsanto has been scrutinised for a series of reports indicating that their pesticides are harmful to humans, with a growing campaign linking chemical agents in Monsanto products to increased rates of cancer and birth defects. In the province of Chaco, where Monsanto operate, cancer rates are between two-to-four times higher than the rest of Argentina.
