I know, I know. TOR is old news and you probably have played it up and down yourself by now, but you know what? I don't care! As always, I do these videos primarily for myself.
That being said, the only reason I'm doing another series is EA's brilliant decision to make virtually every content aside from class quests OPTIONAL! I have no idea how long it will last, but right now you're getting 12-times the experience for class missions than normal. This means that you don't have to do any of the repetetive sidequests or any of the LastLastLastLastGen PvP.
In fact, playing the Star Wars MMO feels like playing KotOR 3 now (if KotOR 3 was designed as a singleplayer MMO like Dragon Age). Still, for people like me, it's absolutly brilliant. I also just got a new 100Mbit connection with 20Mbit upload (had 1Mbit upstream before), so the pieces kinda fell together on their own.
Anyway, to the story. I've heard alot of good things about the Imperial Agent over the last years, but I never quite believed them, because ... well, its Bioware. But all those people were right! This story is what KotOR 3 should have been. You actually get to play as a very serious agent operating under police state pressure while being able to employ said pressure yourself, if you desire to. It also involved alot of undercover activities, so expect alot of costume changes.
This brings me to another nice feature: The ability to get copies of all your outfits you have on other characters on the same account already. Yes, it costs a few Cartel Coins to unlock them, but you get outfits that have become extinct or expensive beyond reason delivered to your doorstep. I like it!
To the character: For me, the prime example of an Imperial operative who's not a Sith has always been Grand Admiral Thrawn from Timothy Zahn's epic novels ("Heir to the Empire"). But you know me, I find male characters in videogames unappealing. I do not want to watch a male butt wiggling in front of my face for days. Also, Bioware has totally screwed up the romances in The Old Republic, so romancing any of the pretty girls makes me feel ashamed to be of the same species as the developers. I just had that with Kira Carsen and it was atrocious, to say it nicely.
In short, it had to be a female Chiss. Ar'alani is inspired by -- who else -- Timothy Zahn's character, who plays a role in the novel "Outbound Flight". She's an admiral in a pure white uniform (yes, expensive in TOR, expect it in Chapter 2). The game even gave me the option to introduce her as member of the Chiss Ascendancy and tell Kaliyo that she was in fact not raised by the Empire, but by the Chiss. Thumbs up for that, Bioware! Especially the episode on Hoth was pretty epic, since I basically kissed the Empire goodbye and choined the Chiss Ascendancy. It's like the developers expected most Imperial Agents to be Chiss, but more on that in the Hoth episode.
You can also find her in the suberb "Star Wars - Empire at War"-mod "Thrawn's Revenge", where she acts as a hero unit of the Empire of the Hand.

Anyway, expect more episodes to come soon. As always, with (hopefully) near-perfect editing and effects. Enjoy!
