Anyone can walk Sofia's important sights in three to four hours since they are all located within a short distance of each other. We last visited Bulgaria 10 years ago on a specific hiking tour through all three of its major mountain ranges: Pirin, Rhodope, and Rila which also included two days in Sofia. Ergo, been there done it.... But Sofia is not only the capital and largest city of Bulgaria but its history spans 2,400 years, dating back to the Fifth Century BC.
