Hello and welcome to the newly redesigned website for Amputee.ca, which has been linking Canadian amputees since 2003. I have put together a collection of Canadian and International links to amputee and disability related web sites to provide quick access to some of the best amputee resources available. By doing so, I hope you will find some useful amputee information that will help you cope with your amputation. My name is Larry Gardner, and I have been an above knee amputee since 1974, over 40 years. I lost my left leg above the knee as a result of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a drunk driver in a car. A year or two later, I became seriously involved in disabled sports, including competitive swimming and skiing, and recreational sports such as cycling and amputee waterskiing.
