Alessandro Moreschi, Castrato, Ave Maria

Soprano castrato Alessandro Moreschi, last Vatican castrato, in a 111-year-old recording of the Bach/Gounod "Ave Maria." I waited 2 years before producing this video because the quality of the voice does not meet good standards. One factor was the very primative recording methods onto fragile shellac discs. The other factor was that Moreschi was not an 18th-century-trained opera-castrato and does not represent the maverlous castrati of that golden age. I presented it only for historical purposes.
