Ajay Lister, with her sister, Kimberley Gallacher, singing, 'By My Side' from Stephen Schwartz's 'Godspell' live at a concert named, 'From Heaven to the West End' at St John Newland's church in Kingston-Upon-Hull. Ajay (or Amanda Jayne) Lister (Maiden name: Gallacher) was born to entertain with her sparkling personality and very versatile, pure and powerful singing voice. Ajay has been singing solos since the tender age of 4 in church, schools and dance schools, going on as an adult to sing solos on stages such as London’s West End Palace Theatre, and the IndigO2 at the O2 in London! With a family of musicians, it was always going to be a natural talent that she was born with, with the added talents of violin and piano playing. Ajay also has a keen interest in musical theatre, and after constant involvement in the industry from a very young age, she then went on to study the arts for her A-level’s, HND and 2:1 BA Honours degree from Middlesex University; following on to train at the London School of Musical Theatre, where her voice was fine tuned by some of the biggest names in the industry. Ajay is also a talented dancer and actress, and she completed a season at Warner Leisure’s ‘Nidd Hall’ near Harrogate as the main singer of their entertainment team, which was through the same company in charge of the Thompson Cruise Ship’s entertainment. Ajay has been singing on the club circuit now for around 8 years, which began in the south of England, but is now based in Yorkshire, and gets fabulous feed back wherever she goes on her ability to entertain through her songs, and deliver a very versatile repertoire which she alters dependent on the venue and audience. Ajay also delivers singing and piano lessons at her home in Leeds, also providing coaching in preparation for auditions for shows, drama/performing arts schools or colleges.
