In this short video, Aiman takes you to his orientation as a new student in Yale University's Pathway to Science Program. At this event, Aiman was welcomed as the youngest members of Yale's community of scientists, explained more about Pathways to Science, afforded the opportunity talk to a member of Yale’s scientific community, and more!
This event took place last year in 2015 on September 26th, from 4pm to 5:30pm at Yale Commons, 164 College Street. Because we have already documented the entire orientation in greater length during Aiman's older brother Hizami's turn, we didn't feel it was necessary to videotape the entire event. If you are interested in watching how the orientation unfolded, please visit the links below:

Admission into Yale Pathways To Science program does not guarantee a child will get into Yale, but it is a start. It is a valuable experience for young children, and they will definitely enjoy it. If you are interested, and to ensure better chance of getting accepted, you should bring your child / children early on to Yale's weekend outreach program for all ages such as Science on Saturdays and Math Morning on Sundays.
If you reside in New Haven or the surrounding towns, we encourage you to apply. Once you get accepted into the program, you will be able to join summer enrichment programs throughout middle school such as Ulysses S. Grant and S.C.H.O.L.A.R later on in high school.

Have you ever thought about how stars are born, wondered why dinosaurs had feathers, or asked yourself if nanotechnology will change our lives the way computers have? If you are curious about the world around us and want to learn how world-class scientists make discoveries and generate new knowledge, then Pathways to Science is right for you!
With an overarching goal to encourage and support promising young scholars to pursue careers in the sciences, Pathways opens the door for middle and high school students to explore science at Yale University. Whether the student is creative or logical, methodical or messy, observant or intuitive, Yale Pathways will help him or her explore the sciences and take their skills to the next level.
Throughout the year students are invited to programs, demonstrations, lectures, and laboratory visits on Yale University’s campus to learn about cutting-edge advances in science from respected professors. Students can choose which opportunities interest them the most. In the past, students have viewed the cosmos at Yale’s state-of-the-art planetarium, launched rockets, built telescopes, and examined brain specimens with Yale neuroscientists.
Yale Pathways to Science is free of charge. Once accepted, students can participate in programs through high school graduation. Inspiring the next generation of scientists is important to us, and we consider Pathways students the youngest members of Yale’s community of scientists.
Eligibility and application information:
New Haven, West Haven and Amity Public School middle and high school students are invited to apply when nominated by their math or science teacher. We send nomination forms to teachers each April. Nominated students receive applications for the program over the summer. Please email
